Give a Project a High Five – the Five Best Practices of Business Analysis
The five essential components of business analysis can be summed up in these steps: Stakeholder Analysis, Current State Analysis, Future State Analysis, Gap Analysis, and Requirements Management. Master these, and the rest is gravy.
1) Learn the High Five of Business Analysis
2) Identify stakeholders, interested parties as well as users of the solution
3) Model Current State, Future State, and Gap Analysis for project scope
4) Manage Requirements from a project idea to delivery and warranty
Speaker:
Tomette J. Kirk was the first Certified Business Analysis Professional CBAP (July 2009) in the Greater Milwaukee Area. She is currently a Senior Business Systems Analysis Professional for Humana, Inc.
She is the writer and facilitator of two Business Analysis Boot Camps and workshops that are BABOK-based and are the foundation for her company's IT Business Analysis Community of Practice. She has presented at the Southeast WI IIBA Chapter meetings, wI BADD, Milwaukee SPIN, and Project Management/BA World. She has been an officer for the Southeast WI IIBA Chapter. She holds degrees from TCU and Vanderbilt. She lives in Akron, Ohio and works from home.
