Answers

How long are the Board members' terms of office?
The term in office is two years.

I want to run for election, so what do I do?
Send an email to info@wisconsin.iiba.org and provide:

  • Your name
  • A short bio to be published on the Election Ballot

Also please be ready to tell the Chapter about yourself at the November meeting. Some questions you might consider are:

  • Why you are excited to run for a Board position?
  • How would the Chapter benefit from you holding the Board position you are seeking?

What are the Board positions?
The board positions are listed below. More details can be found on our Board of Directors page.

  • President
  • Vice President of Membership
  • Vice President of Technology and Communications
  • Vice President of Finance
  • Vice President of Sponsorship and Corporate Marketing
  • Vice President of Education and Certification
  • Vice President of Administration
  • Past President

What are the requirements to run for a Board position?
The requirements to run for a board position are:

  • Candidates must be current paid members of the IIBA national organization and IIBA Southeast WI Chapter.
  • Candidates must be members in good standing for at least one year.
  • No more than two Board members may work for the same employer.

What happens if I do not finish my whole term in office?
If any Director position becomes vacant, the Board may appoint someone to fill the position for the remainder of the term. The Board may call a special election of the position if more than half the term remains.

If the President does not finish their current term in office, the remaining Board members will appoint an interim President who will stay in office until the end of that term.

What is the time commitment required to serve on the Board?
Each position has duties that may require more (or less) commitment at different times of the year. Our goal is that each member is only required to commit five hours per month. However, you may choose to contribute more depending on your interest in serving.

What positions are up for election each year?
Board positions are aligned so about half of the board is elected each year, to ensure smooth transitions.

Positions up for election in even-numbered years include:

  • Vice President of Membership
  • Vice President of Sponsorship and Corporate Marketing
  • Vice President of Education and Certification
  • Vice President of Administration

Positions up for election in odd-numbered years include:

  • President
  • Vice President of Technology and Communications
  • Vice President of Finance

When is the next board election?
The next election is at our September chapter meeting.
